This New Telescope Might Show Us the Beginning of the Universe   In this TED talk, Wendy Freedman, head of the Magellan Telescope Project describes the capacity of the largest telescope ever, which is now being built.

Stephen Hawking  Master of the Universe (2008) Pt.1 & Pt.2 This excellent 2-part program tells Hawking's own story as one of the most brilliant scientists of the 20th century, now completely paralyzed by ALS, while following the development of his thought on black holes, gravity and the origin of the universe. Other leading scientists appear to describe their discoveries of "Supersymmetry."

NOTE: Hawking and others eagerly awaited results from the Large Hadron Collider at CERN to confirm the standard model or provide evidence for supersymmetry. Here is a 9-9-15 Scientific American article on recent results.

Duane Elgin on "The Living Universe" Educator, futurist, lecturer and author of the best-selling book Voluntary Simplicity, Elgin takes a new look at the nature of the universe and the human position within it.

The Living Universe, Elisabet Sahtouris   An evolutionary biologist, Sahtouris questions some of the basic assumptions of Western cosmology and offers a different  perspective on the nature of the universe.

The Human View ~ Origins, Myth & Dreams

Spencer Wells: The Journey of Man    tells the fascinating story of the beginnings of the human genome project. Wells travels the world, following genetic spoor in search  of the origins of the human.

Joseph Campbell: From "The Power of Myth" series with Bill Moyers - 3. The First Storytellers  This was a series, not to be missed, from 1988, which brilliantly framed our mythological story through many cultures up to the present.

Carl Jung: A Matter of Heart  Despite its poor quality here, this is a fine presentation of the life and thought the pioneering Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung. There is valuable footage of a personal interview with Jung from 1957 at Carl Gustav Jung - The Interview.

Carl Jung  The World Within  This film goes more deeply into the inner world of dreams and fantasy. The Wisdom of the Dream is a 3-part PBS program that explores Jung's life and work on dreams.

Marie-Louise von Franz, introduced by Marion Woodman  The Way of the Dream  This is an in-depth look at th dream process by Jung's foremost student and colleague.

Stephen LaBerge  Perception, Dreaming and Awakening
LaBerge has been a research associate for many years at the Stanford University sleep laboratory and has written and lectured extensively on "lucid dreaming." Also interesting are his comments on the Deep dream state and dying .

Fritz Perls (1893-1970)  Awareness
Rare footage of the psychiatrist who developed Gestalt Therapy.

Stanislav Grof , M.D., Ph.D  introduces himself and his work. Grof is a founder of transpersonal psychology who has spent over 50 years   researching the healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. (See detailed article in the Reading Room)

The Story of a Course in Miracles  Although this "received work" has remained below the radar, its impact has been widespread and well-known people like Wayne Dyer, Jerry Jampolsky and Marianne Williamson acknowledge the impact of its teachings. A fine film in poor quality but available on DVD.

Eckhart Tolle  Enjoying Every Moment  Eckhart Tolle has had a world-wide impact since the publication of his first book, The Power of Now. He teamed up with Oprah Winfrey in a webinar course with a huge international audience over several weeks. These are available from a Chinese source--poor quality excellent content.  A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.

Jon Kabat-Zinn  Mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn  An MIT graduate and Professor of Medicine emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, he was the first to introduce meditation into mainstream medicine.
